Bangor born John Owen
"Jack" Jones was capped twice by Wales in 1901 whilst in his second
spell with
the club. He initially left Bangor to sign for Crewe Alexandra in 1892 and went to make 46 appearances and score 17 goals. John moved to Chorley and then Newton Heath in 1898 where he made three appearances four years before they changed their name to Manchester United. His debut in September 1898 was against Gainsborough. John was known as "Chorley" for much of his career. He returned to Bangor in 1899 after being released by The Heathens "for not obeying orders", won those Welsh caps, and went on to play for Earlstown and Stalybridge Rovers. He lived in Crewe and worked on the railway works. |

winger Alfred Oliver
was born in Bangor on September 15, 1882,
and except
for the 1905/06 season played for Bangor FC from
1903
to 1914, but only twice for Wales, in 1905 against England and
Scotland. Inbetween Alfred moved to Blackburn Rovers where he made a
couple of League appearances before opting to come home. At the age of 11, he had stayed with his grandfather at Min y Don (Anglesey), where he attended the Beaumaris Grammar School. After World War I, Alfred Oliver still played for Llandegfan and worked in the construction business. He died in Glyn Garth (Menai Bridge, Anglesey) on March 29, 1963. His son Glyn Oliver was an aerospace designer in the USA, where he also worked on Project Apollo moon landings, |

Harry Sinclair |
Harry Sinclair was born in the now Southport suburb of High Park in 1900. The leftback played for local side Park Royal, Albion, Norwood Crescent and then Southport before joining Bangor in 1923. He later moved onto to play for Winsford and Burscough. |

Bangor born Alfred Oliver joined Bangor from Anglesey side Beaumaris Town in 1903. Alfred was twice capped by Wales, against Scotland on 6 March 1905 and his second appearance against England three weeks later. In between this time Alfred was transferred between the two clubs, from Bangor to Blackburn Rovers where he made two Football League appearances before returning to Bangor. Ten years later he moved onto to Anglesey based Llandegfan. |
