Bangor were force to battle for this cup win at Llysfaen who quite literally at times took the fight to their Gwynedd League opponents.   And as if to prove the point the Colwyn Bay side had two men sent off in the closing ten minutes with the match already well beyond them.   On the so called Banana Pitch the sides cancelled each other out in the first period with Cameron Barry going close for Bangor from six yards.   Bangor forced other openings but could not get the better of the stubborn home defence.   But it was not until the 39th minute that the visitors finally broke the deadlock.   Long throw specialist Shaun Lock launched the ball into the box and after a goalmouth scramble all action midfielder Dafydd Thomas turned the ball home to the delight, and relief, the travelling blues.   And that was how it stood five minutes or so later when the whistle blew for half time. 	HALF TIME 0-1
No changes at the interval.   But on the pitch there was a rise in the intensity as the home side battled to and beyond the limit to get back into the game.   On 58 minutes the winning combination from the first period struck again.   Shaun Lock launched another missile into the box and midfielder Dafydd Thomas responded once again with a well placed header to again get the better of Cain Folly in the Llysfaen goal.   On 71 minutes long throw Lock struck again as his delivery was inadvertently headed over goalkeeper Folly by defender Alex Jones. Game over and an increase in the reckless nature of the challenges from the home side. But in this Llysfaen went close as Josh Williams headed wide when well placed.   Into the eighties and chaos. First a second yellow and red card for Jordan Russell and then moments later a penalty for Bangor and a similar dismissal for Sean Sheridan.   The penalty was duly dispatched by Jamie Petrie on 86 minutes to conclude an action packed three minutes.   On 89 minutes a great goal to round off another positive afternoon as the marauding Shaun Lock lashed home from outside the box to make the score five nil and secure a slot in the Semi Finals of the North Wales Junior Cup, at home to Llansannan.   So much to smile about for Mel Jones and his charges as they headed off the pitch.

With storm Ciara gone it was up to storm Dennis to influence affairs across North Wales and much of Britain. And despite a host of postponements in the region, including one a mile away at Nantporth, 1876 were able to host Llanystumdwy in the NWCFA Junior Cup.   And they did so with a side missing several first team regulars includiing goalkeeper Leon Jones, defender Michael Johnston, forwards Les Davies and Dylan Summers Jones and more.   Despite this the blues battled through despite being held to a blank interval scoreline on a windswept Treborth.   But Bangor did strike the frame of the goal twice as they looked for the opener, first from Shaun Lock and then Leon Owens both with wind assisted crosses more than shots.   Llanystudwy threatened through Darren Parry but his progress into the box was halted by a well timed challenge from young defender Harry Jones.   With half time approaching on a goalless afternoon Shaun Lock was about to launch a trademark long throw when the referee stropped play to show a red card to visitors number ten Mark Godfrey for violent conduct.   Down to ten men the visitors continued to hold their own for the remainder of the half but with a mountain to climb after the interval in terms of winning the tie.

No changes at the interval.   But Bangor did not take too long to make the advantage count.   On 48 minutes Leon Owens fired home from the six yard line to put the home side ahead.   Six minutes later it was two nil as a long cross from Shaun Lock deceived goalkeeper Ben Jones and flew into the net.   On 65 minutes a second goal for Leon Owens this time a cleanly struck effort from the edge of the box which gave the visiting keeper no chance.   The game was now over as a contest with the ten men unable to resist any longer. On 82 minutes midfielder Cameron Barry span in the box before placing the ball beyond Jones.   And finally Cameron Barry capped a fine individual performance with a second two minutes from time to make it five nil and secure Bangor's place in the quarter finals.   So an emphatic win for the blues who host Llanystumdwy in cup action again next weekend.

Ahead of the imminent, incoming Storm Ciara hosts Bangor blew visitors Ogwen Tigers away on a windswept Treborth in this one sided Gwynedd Cup tie.   And for the first time this season - and in the club' brief history - three different players recorded hatricks in the match.   Leading the way was centre forward Les Davies whose selfless play has been a feature of the season so far.   On two minutes Les Davies headed home from a corner and within five minutyes of the start Les Davies added a second with a clean strike from the edge of the box.   On eleven minutes yet another goal from young Dylan Summers Jones who made it thirteen games in a row for with he beat goalkeeper Shane Owen from Les Davies cross.   On twenty minutes a flurry of three goals in as many minutes settled the match as a contest.   First Sion Parry set up Dylan Summers Jones for his second before Kyle Hartleb pulled one back for the visitors to make it four one. But if the Tigers harboured hopes of a revival Sion Parry was again central to the build up as Jamie Petrie added his name to the scoresheet for a five on advantage.   With around half an hour gone the score line reached six as Dylan Summers Jones provided Jamie Petrie with the perfect opportunity for his second. Six one.   At the point of half time Dylan Summers Jones was fouled in the box. Penalty claimed as usual by the normally reliable Jamie Petrie but his effort was denied by the frame of the goal and the chance went begging.   So a comfortable five goal half time lead for the Bangor side.

No changes at the interval.   On 57 minutes Bangor made it seven as Les Davies notched his hatrick following Jamie Petrie's cross from the right and manager Mel Jones promptly made a couple of changes as Ben Owen and Dylan Williams came on for Dafydd Thomas and Dylan Summers Jones.   Three minutes later goalscorer Davies and substitute Leon Owens combined for Sion Parry to make it eight one.   On 65 minutes Sion Parry got his second for nine one and minutes later the ever green Jamie Petrie completed his hatrick with a close range finish. Ten One.   With seventy minutes on the clock Sion Parry became the third hatrick scorer as he tapped home from Jamie Petrie's cross.   Tigers were now feeling the pressure and the twelth goal came courtesy of an own goal as Kieron Bullock diverted the bal beyond Shane Owen.   On 88 minutes it was unluck thirteen as substitute Dylan Williams prodded home from a corner amd the scoring was complete.   So an emphatic win for the blues who host Llanystumdwy in cup action again next weekend.

Another sizeable following for Bangor at the picturesque Dwyfor Park and another free scoring rampage led by destroyer in chief Dylan Summers Jones who added four more to his season's tally.   Bangor offered a debut to Irish newcomer Lee McNulty in defence and a start upfront for local Dwyfor lad Sion Parry on a ground he knows well.   It took the visitors just four minutes to break the deadlock as Les Davies tapped home from close range after the home defence had struggled to clear his header from a corner.   And on eighteen minutes newcomer Lee McNulty marked his debut with a thumping headed goal. A further goal seemed to have been added but was disallowed by the referee.   On the half hour mark it was three nil and yet again the seasoned striker Jamie Petrie added to his mounting tally with a shot from the edge of the box after a home defender was caught napping on the ball..   And on 32 minutes it was four nil to the blues as local boy Sion Parry gathered the ball outside the box and struck home beyond the despairing Kieron Coats.   No further goals in the closing quarter hour as Bangor were now in cruise control.

No changes at the interval.   The second half was seven minutes old when the seemingly inevitable Dylan Summers Jones goal arrived thanks to a close range header following a period of sustained pressure. This took his unbroken run of games scored in to twelve which is an incredible achievement for the teenage striker.   Four minutes later, on 56, Dylan Summers Jones added his second to make it six nil with a diving header following a flighted cross from the right.   And on 64 minutes it was seven nil as the hatrick goal duly arrived as Dylan Summers Jones latched onto a through ball to slide home with ease s the goalkeeper rushed out to the edge of his box.   On 68 minutes substitute Leon Owens made it eight nil with a close range finish after build up play involving Dylan Summers Jones, Les Davies and Jamie Petrie.   On 75 minutes it was nine nil as leading goalscorer Dylan Summers Jones crashed home from close range with the home side now visibly wilting under the ceaseless pressure.   And the perhaps inevitable tenthh goal duly arrived on 80 minutes as the experienced Jamie Petrie got his second of the afternoon.   The final goal of the afternoon came on 86 minutes as Harry Jones scored with a close range header to make it eleven nil.   This result, allied to a goalless draw for second placed Trearddur Bay Bulls, see Bangor open up an eleven point lead at the top of the table with their 100% league record intact.   A great afternoon out for the visting horde who enjoyed the warm welcome and hospitality. A hard fought win for 1876 against a determined Tigers side who fought tooth and nail and took the lead in this Bob Owen Memorial Shield cup tie. And a short walk across the water for the blues followers to a Maes Y Coed ground around a mile from Treborth.   Along the way Bangor notched their 150th goal of the season a week after passing the 100 league goal milestone at Bethesda.   But near neighbours Menai Bridge were up for the fight and took the lead inside twelve minutes.   A high swirling cross from left back Dale Owens deceived Leon Jones and dropped over him into the net to the delight of the home players and supporters.   But Bangor bounced back five minutes later as Cian Williams latched onto a Matthew Lock header and crashed home beyond former 1876 goalkeeper Dion Lewis. The glovesman had been a second half substitute at FC United in that momentous match in July.   The scores remained level until five minutes before the interval when Dylan Summers Jones extended his consecutive scoring record with a close range finish after some uncertainty in the home box.   So a slender advantage for the blues at Menai Bridge but with all to play for.. No changes at the interval.   Bangor started the second half on the front foot and increased their lead two minutes after the resumption as Les Davies headed home from close range.   Tigers sent on former Bangor City winger Darren Gowans in place of Matt Scowan.   Moments later Jamie Petrie went close but his header hit the post.   On 64 minutes it was 4-1 as Les Davies grabbed his second with a fierce drive following a pass from Shaun Lock for a strike which brought up the 150 goal mark for the season.   Shaun Lock went close but it was perhaps inevitably Jamie Petrie who made it five one eight minutes from time to seal the win and finally subdue the hosts.   Home goalkeeper Dion Lewis was in defiant mood as he pulled off some fine saves as Bangor took control.   In the closing stages there were run outs for replacements Jamie Thomas, Sion Parry and Ryan Pope as the blues management looked to keep the legs as fresh as possible.   This win secured a semi final berth for Bangor as the season moves towards the trophy stage.   And continues what has been a fine start for the embryonic club.   Les Davies leaps - photo with thanks to EventPhoto Wales

Second half Bangor attack the Ogwen End
This ended up as an emphatic win for Bangor but for much of the first half in particular it was a closely fought affair, until the visitors struck an unlikely four goal salvo in the closing three minutes before the break.   Bangor suffered a setback before kick off with Luke Steele unable to play, Ben Owen was drafted in but the late change caused confusion amongst the listed replacements which was to surface in the second half.   Not that any of this seemed very important when the blues, attacking the Town End, scored within the first forty seconds when a shot from Jamie Petrie struck a defender and looped over home keeper Rob Beattie.   (This is shown on the Gwynedd League website as an own goal so the report could be amended)   On five minutes it was two nil when midfielder Dafydd Thomas struck home from twenty yards and the floodgates seemed about to crash open.   But Bethesda, made of sterner stuff, replied instantly when Dewi Thomas lifted the ball over Leon Jones from the left to halve the deficit on a sunny Ogwen Valley afternoon.   Bangor won a number of corners generally crossed by Cameron Barry from either side but Bethesda defended stubbornly and on the half hour Gavin Pritchard went close to grabbing an equaliser but dragged his shot across goal from the left. On 35 minutes Cameron Barry headed on a cross which dropped to Dylan Summers Jones but he lifted over.   Then with half less than five minute away a bewildering series of events put Bangor in total command.   On 41 minutes the impressive Dafydd Thomas fired home from the edge of the box to make it three one.   A minute later it was four to the visitors in unfortunate circumstances for the home side as Cameron Barry saw his shot hit the crossbar and cannon into the goal off the back of the luckless custodian.   On 43 minutes goalscoring defender Cian Williams shot on the turn from close range to make it five one.   And before the local undertaker could blow for the interval it was six as Jamie Petrie wriggled his way through the punch drunk home defence to slide the ball past Beattie.   This sixth goal took the league goals tally to one hundred for the season.   An almost unbelievable end to the half for Bangor who trotted off six one to the good after being only a goal ahead for much of the half.
	HALF TIME 1-6
No changes at the interval.   The second half began with Bethesda now looking wearier and Bangor clearly expecting to add to their tally.   Michael Johnston and Jamie Petrie went close in the opening five minutes with the visitors now attacking the Ogwen Valley End.   On 52 minutes it was 7-1 as Dylan Summers Jones scored for the tenth game in succession with a clean low strike from twelve yards out.   A minute later it as 8-1 as goalscorer Summers Jones turned provider with a near lay off to Jamie Petrie who slotted home from close range for his hatrick.   Bethesda made a change now with Craig Jefferies coming on for Gavin Pritchard. Bangor sent on Ryanm Pope for Ben Owen but the referee rightly ruled that Sion Parry could not come on as he was not listed amongst the replacements. Confusion caused by the late change to the startting line up but, in reality, of now serious consequence at eight one.   On 70 minutes the plucky hosts got a second as Ally Issa scored following a break down the right.   Then Cian Williams was replaced by Leon Owen.   Bangor now attacked down the left with Les Davies causing problems on the wing and creating chances for Dylan Summers Jones which he could not quite tuck away.   But on 79 minutes loud shouts for handball were acknowledged by the referee who pointed to penalty spot.   Jamie Petrie duly converted the spot kick for a nine two advantage.   Immediately Henry Jones replaced Michael Johnston in the Bangor line up. Johnston again the rock at the back for Bangor.   The only real question left was whether or not 1876 could get ten.   And a minute from time they did just that as Dylan Summers Jones crossed from the right and Matthew Lock slid the ball home at the back post to complete off an emphatic if harsh scoreline at Parc Meurig.   The bumper crowd filed out in good mood and with the winning league run intact.   Cian Williams challenges - photo with thanks to EventPhoto Wales

Bangor maintained their fine winning run as recent signing Sion Parry led the way with four goals in a seven nil rout of visitors Ogwen Tigers.   But the dominant force at Treborth was the wind and rain which soaked all and sundry, players and spectators alike.   Leading goalscorer Dylan Summers Jones hit the woodwork twice before Bangor made the breakthrough on sixteen minutes.   Visting goalkeeper Shane Owen did well to deny Summers Jones but this time Sion Parry was on hand to tap in.   Five minutes later Sion Parry beat Owen again, this time with a shot from the edge of the box, to double the blues advantage.   Next up the fit again Luke Steele crashed a powerful twenty yarder against the crossbar as Bangor looked to put the match beyond the reach of the Tigers.   And on 36 minutes they did just that as Benn Lundstram converted a cross from Jamie Petrie to make it three nil and round off an impressive first half display.   So a comfortable half time lead for the Bangor side.

One change at the interval as goalscorer Lundstram made way for Harry Jones.   With only two minutes played after the restart Tremadoc based Sion Parry notched his hatrick to make it four nil for Bangor.   Three minutes later Sion Parry bagged his fourth and Bangor's fifth with a shot from eighteen yards.  Two minutes further on and Dylan Summers Jones extended his incredible goalscoring run to make it nine consecutive games he has scored in with a clean left footed strike.   Moments later four goal Sion Parry made way for Dafydd Thomas and left the field to a well deserved ovation from the home fans.   Substitute Thomas had the ball in the back of the net but celebrations were cut short by an offside flag.   However on 84 minutes Dylan Summers Jones made it seven nil with a close range finish for his 37th goal of the season.   A fine win for Bangor in difficult conditions and words of praise too for the home faithful who variously stood and sat in the rain to support the blues.   So an another win for Bangor made all the more important with the news that chief rivals Trearddur Bay had also won.

Bangor extended their lead at the top of the Gwynedd League with a comfortable victory over Caernarfon based visitors Waunfawr at Treborth on Monday night.   And they did so despite playing this home fixture in red against their blue clad visitors.   Young Dylan Sumers Jones sent a warning shot - or header - narrowly wide in the opening minutes but with ten gone the home siide took the lead.   After Shaun Lock saw his high lofted cross strike the crossbar predatory centreback Cian Williams potted the loose ball before anyone else to react.   On 25 minutes Bangor doubled their advantage.   After a composed passing move which involved several of the team, Matt Lock crossed left footed from the right  for big Les Davies to glance his header home from six yards.   The best change for the Foryd visitors saw the unfortunate forward lift the ball over the bar from close range.   And on the stroke of half time he was made to pay as Dylan Summers Jones controlled the ball and fired past glovesman Rhys Jones on the turn from eight yards.   That was the eighth game in a row the young marksman has been on target.   So a comfortable half time lead for the Bangor side.

One change at the interval as Michael Johnston made way for new arrival Sion Parry.   After a period of frustration for the home supporters - when Waunfawr stood firm - the hosts got back into characteristic style and created more openings as the half progressed.   Matt Lock and goalscorer Summers Jones both going close, the latter denied by a fine save from the visiting keeper.   Next to try his luck was Dylan Williams with a shot from the edge of the box but the acrobatic glovesman proved defiant once again.   With just two minutes left on the clock a fourth goal arrived.   This time courtesy of new signing Sion Parry who chased a high ball down the middle, saw the flight deceive a Waunfawr defender, and despite his first effort being blocked by the out rushing goakeeper, kept his nerve to lift the ball home from eighteen yards.   So an important win for Bangor who tighten their grip at the top of the table despite the games coming thick and fast.

Another big win for Bangor, back on Anglesey for a meeting with Glantraeth at Bodorgan, a case of where it all began for blues talisman Les Davies.   But the unlikely hero upfront for Bangor once again was captain Michael Johnston who scored the opening goal.   That opener came inside nine minutes.   Cameron Barry's corner from the right was sent back to him for the tall midfielder to calmly centre deep into the home box where Michael Johnston controlled and smashed the ball home from six yards out to the delight of the travelling blues.   On 21 minutes it was two nil to Bangor.   Goalkeeper Dan Williams confidently claimed a corner before picking out Jamie Petrie on the half way line with a controlled clearance. He in turn lifted the ball towards the edge of the box where hesitation in the home defence allowed Dylan Summers Jones to nip and prod the ball past the Glan goalkeeper. This makes it seven games in row the young striker has scored in as he heads the Bangor goalscorer charts with 34 goals in early January.   Moments later provider Petrie was confident he had made it three nil for the visitors but an offside flag cut short the celebrations.   On the half hour Glantraeth striker Bradley Bland tested young goalkeeper Williams but he passed with a fine save.   With Bangor looking dangerous home coming king Les Davies was denied when he headed over from inside the six yard area.   So a two goal lead for Bangor on a bright sunny Bodorgan afternoon.

No changes at the interval.   The first chance of the second period fell to leading goalscorer Summers Jones but his effort hit the crossbar.   But on 52 minutes the third goal arrived.   The ball broke to Les Davies on the left. His dipping cross was chested down and tucked away by Jamie Petrie from eight yards out.   On 64 minutes new signing Ryan Pope made his Bangor debut as he replaced Dylan Williams who had impressed upon his return from injury. Bangor regained top spot in the Gwynedd League with a resounding 13-2 win over Caernarfon area visitors Bontnewydd at Treborth.   And before a crowd of 440 it was young marksman Dylan Summers Jones who led the way with a five goal haul.   But the evening began in sombre tone as all present stood in silence in memory of Louisa Shooman who had sadly died over the Christmas period.   After a guard of honour for Sgorio's player of the decade Les Davies play got underway and Bangorneeded only seven minutes to take the lead.   Dylan Summers Jones regathered a lose ball to cross low from the right for Matthew Lock to tap home from close range.   Three minutes later Dylan Summers Jones doubled the lead when he latched onto a long clearance upfield from Michael Johnston to chip the ball into the empty net with the goalkeeper well off his line.   On 22 minutew it was three nil for the home side as Dylan Summers Jones ran to the left before sliding home beyond a despairing Ethan Carter. Moments earlier the visitors nearly halved the deficit but were denied by the upright.   On 36 minutes Dylan Summers Jones secured his hatrick as he headed home from six yards following a perfect cross from strike partner Les Davies.   With literally a minute left to play in the first half Bangor made it five nil.   Jamie Petrie was twice involved in a move down the right before the ball broke to Les Davies on the edge of the box. His low left footer found the bottom corner with Carter once more forlorn.   So an emphatic first half display by the free scoring blues.

No changes at the interval.   Seven minutes after the restart Jamie Petrie got in on the scoring with a close range finish from Dylan Summers Jones low cross from the right.   After a period of relative calm Bangor extended their lead to seven with reply on 69 mintes as midfielder Cameron Barry tapped home another right wing cross, this time from substitute Benn Lundstram.   But two minutes later Bontnewydd proved they were still alive and kicking as they won a penalty converted by left back Matthew Roberts.   However four minutes later, on 75, Bangor responded with a second goal from Les Davies who stooped slightly to head home another right wing cross, this time from courtesey a fine overlapping run from Michael Johnston.   But four minutes more and another Bontnewydd penalty again converted copycat style by Matthew Roberts who again sent goalkeeper Leon Jones down the wrong way to make the overall score eight two.   Within a minute it was nine for Bangor as Dylan Summers Jones was sent clear by Les Davies to drill beyond Carter at his near post.   And on 86 Les Davies notched his hatrick to make it ten two as he chested down a Shaun Lock freekick before crashing home from eight yards.   On 87 and 89 minutes there were further close range finishes for substitutes Luke Steele and Benn Lundstram for goals eleven and twelve as Bontnewydd wilted under the unrelenting pressure.   In added time the final blow was struck by Dylan Summers Jones who grabbed his fifth of the evening and thirteenth overall with a calm close range finish from the left.   So Bangor regained their position at the top of the table with the final fixture of 2019. Bangor hit visitors Llanystumdwy for six as they climbed above Trearddur Bay to the top of the Gwynedd League table.   The most important day to be top of the league is the last of the season but this is a welcome boost the blues who trailed the island side due to a fixture backlog. Also worthy of note a well supported collection of food for the cathedral foodbank which took place before kick off an just a few days after a general election returned the Government responsible for this sad situation. Strange times.   The opening goal did not arrive until the 26th minute. Cameron Barry began the move before Dylan Summers Jones gained possession on the left. He in turn stayed wide before crossing to Benn Lundstram who shot home from close range with only the keeper to beat.   On 34 minutes it was two nil as captain Michael Johnston nodded home near post from a Cameron Barry free kick crossed from the right. That's two in five games for the experienced defender.   On the stroke of half time it was three nil as visitors goalkeeper Carl Williams was beaten by a clean low strike from Shaun Lock. The shot seemed to catch the glovesman wrongfooted and may have taken a deflection.   So a comfortable lead for Bangor with their sights firmly on top spot at Christmas.

No changes at the interval.   Almost immediately after the restart it was four nil.   A long goalkick from Leon Jones was headed on by Benn Lundstram for Jamie Petrie who slid the ball through for Dylan Summers Jones to beat Williams in customary style.   Just before the hour mark a first change for Bangor as Harry Jones replaced the scorer of the third goal Shaun Lock.   Bangor fans had to wait until the 73rd minute for a fifth goal.   This time the scorer was Jamie Petrie who latched onto Cameron Barry's through ball to stab the ball home from close range when Williams seemd to have it covered.   Eight minutes from time warm applause for Michael Johnston as he made way for young Cian Williams.   And as the final whistle approached a sixth goal came from midfielder Ben Owen whose shot deflected up into the net off the head of a visiting defender.   So Bangor moved top of the table with a firm grip on the top position as the second half of the season comes into focus.

Back on the North West coast of windswept Anglesey Bangor 1876 faced the wind and determined opposition in the first half but swept to an emphatic win in the second.   And they did so despite an early injury set back.   The first incident those was bad news for Bangor who lost the experienced Dylan Williams with injury in the opening minutes. His place was taken by Harry Jones. City were forced to battle as the played into the teeth of a strong wind.   But on fourteen minutes the visitors prospects improved markedly as they took the lead. Les Davies slid a freekick to the ever alert defender turned poacher Cian Williams and he shot beyond Caergybi goalkeeper Kieran Weeks from the right.   Next big Les went close to getting his name on the scoresheet but the home keeper was able to claw away his twenty yarder.   Before half time young Benn Lundstram also went close but again the acrobatic glovesman kept his effort out.   With the home side enjoying a fair amount of possession and making the most of the wind Bangor were not able to add to to their tally before the half time whistle blasted.   So a slender lead but with the advantage of the wind in the second period.

No changes at the interval.   But the wind was now at Bangor's backs and the second half took on a totally different complexion.   Six minutes after the restart the blues doubled their advantage and never looked back. Leading goalscorer Jamie Petrie netted from a right wing cross after having at the second attempt.   On 66 minutes it was three nil as Benn Lundstram scored from Jamie Petrie's cross as Bangor asserted their authortiy against the tiring Holyhead side.   The notable name missing from the scoresheet so far then got in on the action as Dylan Summers Jones fired home right footed from the edge of the box on 73 minutes. Bangor 1876 took a giant step towards the Gwynedd League league title with a decisive win at Treaddur Bay Bulls on Saturday afternoon.   And the key man with both goals was Anglesey youngster Dylan Summers Jones whose importance to the side has grown as the season has progressed.   The teenage striker began the season as a relative unknown alongside the likes of Les Davies and Jamie Petrie. But a flurry of goals have seen his status rise. Of course this is a team game and midfielder Dylan Williams as well as the two experienced front men have played a huge role in the youngster's development and the run of league wins.   Playing into the wind Bangor were forced to defend but managed to break forward and open the scoring on 22 minutes.   A goalkick from Konner Druce was intercepted and played to Les Davies who slid Dylan Summers Jones in on the left. He ran towards goal before finishing calmly from the left side of the Trearddur penalty area.   Goalscorer Summers Jones went close to doubling the lead before Les Davies crashed the ball wide with a trademark clout.   But on 44 minutes Bangor got the second goal they craved. A ball lifted down the left channel again fed a run from Dylan Summers Jones who raced in to finish with a carbon copy of his first effort.   So a clear two goal lead for the blues with the wind at their backs in the second period.

No changes at the interval.   Despite having the wind at their backs Bangor could not increase their lead and as the game went on it was the Anglesey side who threatened.   With ten minutes left to play Trearddur were awarded a penalty which Iolo Jones converted to half the deficit and raise the hopes of a fightback amongst the home supporters.   Fortunately for Bangor they were able to stand their ground and clinch a vital victory thanks to a Dylan Summers Jones brace and some fine late defending.   This result sees City move four points behind table toppers Trearddur with four games in hand as Christmas, the nominal half way point of the seasos, beckons.

Bangor finally overcame never say die opponents Llanfairfechan but needed extra time to book their place in the next round of the NWCFA Junior Cup.   And as often before the names Summers Jones and Petrie were on the scorers list by the final whistle.   The home side were without the likes of Michael Johnston and Les Davies perhaps with one eye on the trip to Treaddur Bay a week later.   Bangor went ahead on eight minutes when Jamie Petrie passed to midfield general Dylan Williams who finished from the edge of the box.   The experienced might have added a second five minutes later but could not quite find the target. The other chance of note for the blues fell to Jamie Petrie but the club's leading scorer saw his goalbound effort blocked.   So a slender interval lead for the home side,

No changes at the interval.   Young marksman Dylan Summers Jones went close a couple of times for Bangor but it was Llanfairfechan who netted to tie the scores.   The goal came ten minutes after the restart as Sion Devereux headed home from an inviting freekick.   Dylan Summers Jones was denied by the crossbar as he went closest for Bangor but it took a fine save from Leon Jones to keep the visitors out as they threatened minutes later.   The final chance to settle the match in normal time came to Cian Williams but the young centreback fired over.   At the final whistle both sides readied themselves for extra time. Extra Time   The two sides battled for a breakthrough which finally came via Dylan Summers Jones who cut in from the left to fire home right footed two minutes before the interval.   And no sooner had the second period of added time got underway than the young goalscorer set up Jamie Petrie who needed no second invitation to put the game beyond the spirited visitors.   Three minutes from the final whistle Dylan Summers Jones added his second of the afternoon to add some gloss to the scoreline and put a seal on a hard fought victory. Bangor smashed their way past visitors Llanystumdwy in the Bob Owens Memorial Sheld match at Treborth. And returned to winnng ways after successive cup defeats.   And the goals which had both sets of fans caught up in the action soon began to arrive.   Bangor raced into the lead inside five minute as Jamie Petrie smashed home from eight yards out after a run and cross from Dafydd Thomas..   On eleven minutes it was two nil as young Anglesey based striker Dylan Summers Jones rounded the goalkeeper to slot home calmly after a telling pass from Les Davies.   On 19 minutes Dylan Williams made it three nil as the match quickly ended as a contest and on 33 minutes Dylan Summers Jones struck his second to put Bangor firmly in command with an hour still to play again off an Les Davies assist.   The goals kept coming though and three minutes later Les Davies made space for himself to beat the 'keeper rght footed  from the edge of the box for a five nil advantage following a cross from the right from Jamie Petrie.   And that was the end of the scoring for the first half with Bangor sitting comfortably on a five nil advantage.   A straightforward half time team talk ahead for Mel and co.. No changes at the interval.   The home side quickly picked up the pace of scoring to overwhelm the visitors in the second period.   Four minutes after the restart left footer Shaun Lock let loose with a long range effort that flew into the back of the net. And two minutes later it was seven nil as leading goalscorer Jamie Petrie added to his opening goal of the afternoon from a Dylan Summers Jones pass..   On the hour mark a first goal of the season for Michael Johnston who capitalised on some uncertainty in the visitors penalty area following a corner..   Four minutes later a fifth hatrick of the season for the prolific Dylan Summers Jones made it nine nil and notched his hatrick before on 71 minutes defender Cian Williams popped up to score from close range and take the scoring to ten without reply.   On 77 minutes Luke Steele crashed home from the penalty spot to make it eleven nil and three minutes it was twelve as Les Davies bagged his second off the crossbar.   With one minute on the clock a hatrick for Jamie Petrie with a diving header to make it unlucky thirteen after some brave defending by Llan goalkeeper Williams had seen him out of his goal.   So a return to winning ways for Bangor and another hatful of goals which takes the season's tally to ninety!   Dylan Summers Jones celebrates closes in - photo with thanks to Kevin Owen Bangor 1876

Bangor bowed out of the Welsh Cup at the Second Round stage against Cymru North visitors Ruthin Town.   And the opponents from tier two against tier five Bangor justified their favourites tag with a goal in each half before a 400 strong crowd at Treborth.   Bangor were forced into a number of pre match team changes with defender Matthew Lock and Jos Lloyd injure, likewise midfielder Cameron Barry and up front big Les Davies ruled out by suspension. To make matters worse midfield replacement Iwan Williams was injured almost immediately and had to be replaced on four minutes by young Jamie Thomas.   But before the match got underway there was an impeccably observed minute's silence in remembrance of those who died in conflict.   Ruthin went close early on through Will Owen before blues midfielder Ben Owen shot wide from distance.   The dangerous Owen forced Bangor glovesman Leon Jones into a good save on twenty five minutes but on the half hour the viistors had the advantage.   A set piece delivery into the blues box was headed home cleanly by Kevin Evans for a deserved lead.   Young strikers Benn Lundstram and Dylan Summers Jones worked hard to find an equaliser for Bangor but it was Ruthin who went close to adding a second as Rhys Davies sent a freekick arrowing on target but Leon Jones saved well.   So half time deficit for Bangor and a tough task ahead against a discplined and purposeful Ruthin side.

No changes at the interval.   The next goal would always prove significant and unfortunately for Bangor it was |Ruthin who scored thanks to the prolific striker Llyr Morris who beat the offside trap and goalkeeper Jones with a well placed effort.   Morris epitomises the Ruthin club, a plyer who could doutbless double his money with a move to one of many local rivals but stays loyal and scores regularly.   Twetny muinutes after the restart Benn Lundstram hit the target with a freekick but failed to trouble Ryan Goldston. Next Ruthin sent on Gwyddion Owen for Will Owen.   Jamie Petrie saw a shot deflected behind for a corner moments after substitute Jamie Thomas was himself injured and forced off in favour of Louis McFarlane.   Bangor were having a go and Ruthin were forced to defend but could rely on the ever dangerous Llyr Morris whose close control set up a chance denied only by Leon Jones.   Left peg Shuan Lock was central to the Bangor threat with freekicks and his long throws but Goldston and his defence stood firm.   And so for 1876 the cup run came to an end, time to contemplate on the league and of course several other cups!

Bangor 1876 crashed out of the FAW Trophy following a heavy defeat on the equally heavy Gwydir Park pitch in Llanrwst.    And in the first weekend of November this was the first defeat for the newly formed side who had won their previous thirteen games in a row.   Credit to Llanrwst who had weathered the elements to make sure they were able to host this tie at the second time of asking and avoid the third tilt being switched to Treborth.   The Welsh Alliance hosts had to wait until the 43rd minute when Matt Mullender headed the opening goal of the afternoon.   And that was to prove to be the only goal of the first half.   So a slender advantage to the Conwy Valley side at the interval. One change at the interval as Ben Owen came on for Jamie Petrie.   Bangor could not draw level and on 63 minutes Llanrwst doubled their advantage as Sam Roberts netted. City sent on Benn Lundstram in place of midfielder Cameron Barry.   Then further misfortune for 1876 as Michael Johnston turned the ball past Leon Jones for a three nil deficit on 71 minutes.   Johnston was clearly handicapped by injury and promptly left the field to be replaced by Luke Steele.   And one minute from time Bangor finally had a goal as substitute Benn Lundstram netted but United responded moments later as Callum Parry got the fourth of the game to seal a place in the next round of the FAW Trophy.   So a first defeat of the season - a first defeat ever - for 1876 ahead of a Welsh Cup clash with Ruthin next Saturday at Treborth. Bangor battled through to the second round of the Welsh Cup with a penalty shoot out defeat of Welsh National League visitors Penycae.   And the goals which had both sets of fans caught up in the action soon began to arrive.   Visitors Penycae took the lead inside three minutes. Highly rated striker Anthony Dunleavy powered a shot beyond Leon Jones to stun the home crowd at a rain soaked Treborth.   But Bangor hit back two minutes later as Les Davies was brought down in the box for a penalty converted by Jamie Petrie with customary aplomb.   The match became quite physical with Dafydd Thomas, Michael Johnston and Jos Lloyd Jones shown the yellow card by Wrexham referee Arthur Smallman.   Leftback Lloyd Jones tested goalkeeper Belton before Chirk cricketer Andrew Swarbrick headed narrowly wide of Leon Jones' upright.   Bangor talisman Les Davies also headed wide from a similar opening before the dangerous Swarbrick raced on goal, forced a good save from Jones before lifting the rebound over the bar with no one left to beat.   So an evenly contested first half reflected in the scoreline..

No changes at the interval.   The visitors threatened as the front two of Swarbick and Dunleavy both had chances in the falling rain.   Substitute Monterio, who had replaced Kendrick, shot into the side netting and it was no surprise when Penycae took the lead on 77 minutes. Anthony Dunleavy found time to arch a shot inside the upright from the edge of the box for a two one lead and little time remaining.   Bangor won a freekick on the edge of the box for a foul on Dion Jones but Les Davies clean strike fizzed the wrong side of the post.   As time ran out Bangor won a corner on 93 minutes which was crashed home by defender Matthew Lock to level the scores to the dismay of the visitors but delight of the majority of the three hundred strong crowd.   That was it, the game moved into extra time.. FULL TIME 2-2   Penycae replacement Evan Woodhall once again put the visitors ahead some thirteen minutes into the added time but yet again Bangor bounced back as a second penalty of the afternoon came following a handball which denied Jamie Petrie who fittingly slotted home from the spot to level the scores. PENALTY SHOOT OUT Bangor went first from the spot but Michael Johnston missed before Evan Woodhall was denied by Leon Jones. Left peg Shaun Lock hit the post before Tom Edwards scored to make it 0-1 from two apiece. Blues centre forward Les Davies crashed home but so did Jack Brindley to make it 1-2 from three. Experienced Dylan Williams netted for Bangor but Calyn Spencer missed to make it 2-2 from four. Penalty specliasist Jamie Petrie put Bangor ahead and with the pressure on Anthony Dunleavy hit the crossbar To set off wild celebrations amongst the home fans. Harsh in the exteme on Penycae and Dunleavy in particular but arranging cup replays is impossible in modern football.

Bangor 1876 wetn two better than the dozen they have smashed past Llanerchymedd a week earlier with a 14-0 rout of visitors Bethesda Athletic.   And the tormentor in chief of the Meurig Park side was Jamie Petrie who lead the way with five goals on the night with a first half hatrick in a nine nil first half blast.   Bangor took the lead on two minutes when Dave Clarke's wayward clearance fell for Dylan Summers Jones who netted confidently.   On five minutes Jamei Petrie got in on the act as he pounced on Cameron Barry's corner to power home from a tight angle.   Eight minmutes gone and it was three nil thanks to Cian Williams who latched onto Dion Jones' pass.   On ten minutes Les Davies made it four nil as he tapped home after the visiting goalkeeper could only parry Jamie Petrie's shot.   On 23 minutes it was five nil as Shaun Lock attacked down the left and the ball ran to Jamie Petrie who fired home.   Four minutes later Dion Jones saw his shot deflected past goalkeeper Clarke wh had precious little protection for his defence.   On 31 minutes it was a hatrick for leading goalscorer Jamie Petrie as he beat the offside line to beat the exposed Clarke.   Three minutes later Les Davies bagged his second from the edge of the box to make it eight nil.   And with the visitors hoping for the half time whistle there was still time for one more as Dafydd Thomas crossed and Dion Jones headed his second.   So an incredible half time advantage for the Bangor side.

One change at the interval as Cai Williams replaced Louis Chico in the visitors side.   With Bethesda having changed to a five man defence it took Bangor just four minutes to add a tenth to their tally as Les Davies released Jamie Petrie for his fourth of the evening.   The visitors defended bravely but on 67 minutes substitute Jamie Thomas crossed for Jamie Petrie to notch his fifth of the evening to make it eleven nil.   Six minutes later on 73 Dylan Summers Jones got his second as he ran on goal from the right to beat the hapless Clarke.   With around ten minutes left to go it was unlucky thirteen as Cameron Barry crashed the ball home from inside the box.   And moments later Dylan Summers Jones notched his hatrick goal to make the final score fourteen nil and end the misery for the local rivals.   Another record win for Bangor and another three points, despite the best efforts of David Clarke and his overworked defence.

Bangor 1876 won through this NWCFA Cup tie at Belle Vue despite fielding a much changed starting eleven that the travelling fans might have expected.   Amongst those not involved were centreback Michael Johnston and Cian Williams, midfielder Cameron Barry and centre forward Les Davies. Others such as goalkeeper Leon Jones, midfielder Dion Jones and leading goalscorers Jamie Petrie and Dylan Summers Jones watched from the subs bench.   Bangor went close from a Shuan Lock freekick but in truth there was precious little goalmouth action in the opening stages.   But on 26 minutes the visitors took the lead. Leon Owens shot from distance, goalkeeper Joe O'Brien could only parry the ball into the path of Dylan Williams who slotted home from close range.   But four minutes later Llanelwy drew level as former Prestatyn and Kimnel Bay midfielder Liam Rowlands Jones headed past goalkeeper Danial Williams thanks to a clear deflection.   Bangor could not regain the lead although they did have loud shouts for a penalty as half time beckoned as Benn Lundstram seemed to be felled in the box, but nothing doing.   So all square at the interval

Moments later first team regular Dylan Summers Jones replaced Leon Owens. City also sent on Jamie Petrie for Iwan Williams.   Dylan Williams went close to netting his second of the afternoon as Bangor pushed Llanelwy back with Joe o'Brien now the busier of the two goalkeepers.   On 67 minutes Bangor grabbed the decisive third goal.   Substitute Jamie Petrie crossed to Benn Lundstram who netted confidently to make it three one and visibly deflate the home side.   The final twenty minutes belonged to Bangor who went close through Benn Lundstram and Jamie Petrie with goalkeeper O'Brien at full stretch to keep the scoreline close.   In added time Matthew Lock hit the woodwork with a long range effort which had the valiant glovesman beaten but it rocketed to safety and the final scored remained unchanged.   So another impressive win for the 1876 and a place in the next round of the Junior Cup.

Bangor 1876 racked up a dozen goals in their latest home Gwynned League encounter, led once again by a four goal blast, this time from young tyro Dylan Summers Jones.   It should be said that the Island visitors were bottom of the table and had already endured heavy defeats before this one. All credit to them for representing the village and never giving up hope.   Bangor took the lead on the quarter horu mark as Les Davies turned his defender a shot home from the edge of the box.   Two minutes later it was two nil to Bangor when leading goalscorer Jamie Petrie scored a similar goal with a shot that went in off the upright. Dylan Summers Jones, midfielder Cameron Barry and centreback Cian Williams all went close for Bangor as the visitors went for a good spell without conceding.   But on 39 minutes Dylan Summers Jones got in on the action when he turned in Jamie Petrie's low cross and some five minutes later Dafydd Thomas ran through to make it four nil before the half time whistle with his first goal for the club..   So an emphatic half time advantage for the Bangor side.

No changes at the interval.   Within two minutes of the restart Bangor were back in goalscoring action as Jamie Petrie bagged his second with a close range finish.   On the hour mark Les Davies head some a sixth as the floodgates started to swing open. Three minutes later they were swept aside as Jamie Petrie completed his hatrick to make it seven nil.   A minute later leftback Jos Lloyd Jones finished off a fine solo run with a calm finish to make it eight    Bangor made a double change as Benn Lundstram and Luke Steele replaced Dion Jones and Dafydd Thomas.   Goals nine and ten belonged to Dylan Summers Jones who scored on 72 mintes with a header and four minutes later with a composed finish.   On 78 minutes it became eleven nil as Jos Lloyd Jones netted from a corner, then substitute Benn Lundstram set up Dylan Summers Jones for his fourth goal to take the scoring up to the dozen mark.   A record win for Bangor and another three points, credit to the Anglesey youngsters who tried their best from start to finish under difficult circumstances.   photo with thanks to Kevin Owen Bangor 1876

Big Les Davies led Bangor 1876 into the first round proper of the Welsh Cup with a four goal blast in a 6-2 mauling of Welsh Alliance visitors Penrhyndeudraeth.   And he didnt wait long to get the goalscoring underway..   Bangor took the lead inside three minutes when Les Davies fired home left footed from twelve yards out and he and Matt Lock went close to doubling the advantage soon after.   Just after the quarter hour mark a well weighted through ball from Cameron Barry set up Les Davies for his and Bangor's second of the match.   Two minutes later Dylan Summers Jones netted from close range after a long throw from leftback Shaun Lock had unsettled the visitors defence.   The visitors responded with some pressure of their own with Jack Jones going closest with a header.   Midfielders Dion Jones and Cameron Barry both went close some five minutes before the interval with Penrhyn goalkeeper Robert Watson working hard to keep the deficit at three. Steven Jones though thought he had rpulled one back but was denied by an offside flag.   Young striker Dylan Summers Jones' progress inside the Penrhyn box was tripped by Cedri Jones for a penalty duly dispatched by Les Davies for his first hatrick for Bangor 1876 and a four nil interval lead.   And with the blue faithful contemplating a beer or a bovril the half time break could not have come soon enough for the visitors with Bangor all btu through to the next round after an emphatic first half.

No changes at the interval.   The opening quarter of an hour of the second period proved a frustrating one for the home side as Cameron Barry twice went close and Dylan Summers Jones saw his effort hit the frame of the goal.   Bangor though were back amongst the goals on 62 minutes as Les Davies made it five nil with his fourth of the afternoon as his fierce strike crashed into the net.   Five minutes later though long serving midfielder Steven Jones pulled a goal back for Penrhyn to give their supporters something to cheer after a difficult hour at Treborth.   And two minutes later they repeated the feat with a second tucked away by Reece Evans to make the score five two.   But fifteen minutes from time Dylan Summers Jones got his second of the afternoon to make it six two to Bangor and flatten any fears of an unlikely comeback by the sprited visitors.   With three minutes to go Penrhyndeudraeth were awarded a penalty but Leon Jones was up to task and his save to deny Jack Jones proved to be the final telling moment of the afternoon other than the referee's whistle for time..   A comfortable win for City then in an entertaining eight goal thriller.   The First Round draw due to be made on Monday. Bangor 1876 carried on their winning ways with four more goals enjoyed by another bumper crowd, this time at Gloddfa Clai in the sunblessed Nantlle Valley.   Hosts Talysarn deserve praise for their organisational efforts on and off the pitch. Hospitality was laid on for the visiting blue horde whlst the valley side battled from start to finish in a match far closer than the scoreline suggested.   Bangor went close inside thirty seconds when Dylan Summers Jones shot from the right but could not keep his effort down.   But it was Talysarn who opened the scoring on eight minutes as Glyn Thomas crashed home from 25 yards with a fanstastic effort that left visiting keeper Leon Jones grasping thin air.   Mel Jones' side rallied with a string of corners won by Dylan Summers Jones and Jamie Petrie but the home side defended resisted well, wiht the burly Gavin Davies at the heart of the resistance.   Midway through the hall leftback Jos Lloyd Jones fed Jamie Petrie but his shot on the turn crashed into the side netting. Next Summers Jones cut in from the right, jinked past two or three home defenders, but slid under pressure and dragged his shot wide.   On 24 minutes a break! Both sides happy to take a drink on a hot sunny afternoon in the most picturesque of locations. A yellow card aimed at midfielder Gerwyn Williams also punctuated play but on the half hour Bangor drew level.   A flick on from Les Davies created a chance which Dylan Williams converted from six yards. But rather than deflate the Celts this seemed to bring them to life and Bangor were forced to defend as Dylan Roberts dragged his efort wide from the edge of the box.   The viistors won the fifth and sixth corners of the first half with Dylan Summers Jones again a handful for the Talysarn defence  Leon Jones pulled off a great save from the menacing Gerwyn Williams   With three minutes left until the break the home side withdrew powerful centreback Gavin Davies whose place was taken at the heart of the defence by Guto Hughes.   Talysarn penned Bangor back with a couple of corners, the first won by the pacey left winger Rhodri Jones, but the blues countered through Dylan Summers Jones whose progress was stopped by rightback Osian Jones who received a yellow card for his troubles. A freekick teed up and struck home by Les Davies who clean low drive beat goalkeeper Page to give Bangor a two one interval lead.   Too close to call perhaps at the break but in the hot weather fitness could be a factor.. No changes at the interval.   Bangor now attacking the village end of the ground where they immediately earned a seventh corner moments before the hosts also won their third or fourth.   An early chance for a third goal came via Les Davies but his pullback was blasted over by Jamie Petrie.   On 58 minutes the goal did come. Again the provider Dylan Summers Jones whose surging run off a Les Davies pass tempted a trip in the box and penalty.   Regular spot kick man Jamie Petrie stepped up and made no mistake for a three on advantage.   Four minutes later it was four one with the busy Dylan Summers Jones again latching onto a Les Daviesthrough ball to set up Jamie Petrie with his low cross from the left. A close range back post finish for the little striker who continues to bag the goals both from the spot and open play.   The Bangor midfield had failed to stamp any authority on the first half but Ben Owen in particular caught the eye in the second with a series of long range passes which released the willing runners ahead and pushed the home side back towards their own goal.   Next up another Bangor corner which Cian Williams met at the near post but turned wide and out for a goalkick.   On 65 minutes a change for the visitors as Matthew Lock replaced rightback Dion Jones but on 72 minutes a yellow card for leftback Jos Lloyd Jones as he conceded a freekick which in turn was crossed deep for Gerwyn Williams to head home emphatically.   The gifted left footer Jones then crossed for Summers Jones but his first time effort crashed wide.   In the closing minutes Talysarn again forced a couple of corners which Bangor resisted and in the time added on a first clear mistake by the otherwise impressive young referee.   Dylan Summers Jones twisted his way into the Talysarn box and was clearly chopped down for a quite blatant penalty - but nothing given. Rough justice but overall a competent performance from the young whistler who had, amongst the club linesmen, a University professor and purveyor of dreadful jokes.   So another impressive win for Bangor with goals shared between young and more experienced players once again. All credit to the home side who gave a very good account of themselves on and off the pitch. Jamie Petrie congratuled following his second of the afternoon
