Conwy Borough History & Honours
In 1977 Conwy Town and Conwy Royal British Legion, both of the Vale of Conwy League, joined forces to form Conwy United.
The club was elected to the Welsh League (North) that later became the Welsh Alliance League. In 1981/82 United won the Welsh Intermediate Cup (now called the FAW Welsh Trophy) also the Welsh Alliance League title in 1984/85 and 1985/86.
In 1990 Conwy became founder members of the Cymru Alliance League and finished in the top seven. Then in 1992 the club became founder members of the League of Wales.
The club finished a creditable seventh in its first season and in 1995/96 finished in third place under the guidance of John Hulse, with Ken McKenna setting a club goalscoring record of 49 goals in a season. Conwy qualified for the InterToto Cup and played Charleroi (Belgium) and SV Reid (Austria) at The Racecourse, Wrexham, and travelled to Zeglebie Lubin (Poland) and Silkeborg (Denmark).
In the following three seasons United reached the semi-finals of the Welsh Cup twice, and qualified for the FAW Premier Cup twice, most notably holding Swansea City to 0-0 draw at The Vetch. However the financial burden had began to take its toll and relegation followed in 2000.  United opted to drop into the Welsh Alliance League. In its second season the club was League runners-up and Cookson Cup runners-up.
The following two seasons were very difficult both on and off the field but the return of Nigel Roberts as manager kept the club up and the 2004-05 season started tremendously well with the club sitting at the top of the League. However, tragedy struck when Nigel Roberts was killed in a road accident, but the team showed great strength and character to keep fighting. The championship evaded them but under the guidance of Danny McGoona United reached the final of the Cookson Cup again, only to lose out 4-3 to Bethesda. The emergence of young players at the club has seen many progress to the first team.
In 2011 United won the Welsh Alliance and took the opportunity to return to the Cymru Alliance under the guidance of experienced pair Steve Jones and Dean Martin who took over the during the summer of 2011.
Past players for the club who have gone on to the Football League include Neville Southall, Carl Dale and Kevin Ellison.
In the summer of 2012 the club changed its name to Conwy Borough.

Levi went on to make 45 Football League appearances for Wrexham and a further sixteen after their relegation to the Conference. He fell out of favour with manager Dean Saunders who did not appreciate Mackin's no nonesense combative style. Loan periods followed with Droylsden and York City with The Ministermen taking up the option of signing the Welsh U21 International on a permanent basis. After a total of 61 Conference starts for York Levi joined newly promoted Alfreton Town in July 2011 but after a relatively unhappy time in Derbyshire he signed for Chester in January 2012.
