Llanrhaeadr Y.M. Football
Club was formed on 21st August 1882.
Apart from breaks during the 1st & 2nd World Wars Llanrhaeadr FC have played regularly in various leagues, including:
Eastern Division of the Recreation Associations League, North Shropshire League, Oswestry and District League and Montgomeryshire Amateur League.
This period was not without success. Llanrhaeadr won the Oswestry and District League in 1958 and 1959, then again in 1969, 70 & 71. The Montgomery Amateur League was won in 1966,
In the year 2000 and for the first time in the Club's long history, Llanrhaeadr YM FC joined a Senior League, when the club was promoted into the Spar Mid Wales League. In 2004 Llanrhaeadr were runners up in the national FAW Trophy (formerly the Intermediate Cup).
In 2010 Llanrhaeadr YMFC started a reserve side which entered in the Montgomeryshire Football League Div 2 (JT Hughes League).
At the end of the 2010-11 season the club won promotion to the Cymru Alliance and after a determined rally against ground criteria rulings - which were eventually proven to be unfair - took their place in the second tier of Welsh football.
One difficult year later and a second season begins in the CA with a new manager at the helm, hoping to keep the Powys villagers in amongst the former WP clubs.
